Let’s be honest, we all have an opinion about Iran. It doesn’t matter whether we ever visited the country, have met an Iranian, or have read up on Iran.

Iran is a lightning rod, it evokes strong opinions and emotions.

As such, perceptions of Iran are a perfect example of a product of information wars that started in the 1990s and that sought to demonise the Islamic Republic, not only to Iran’s detriment but also to that of its detractors.
